Back to School-Class Decor and More

It's that time of year again...summer is coming to an end. Like all teachers I love my summers off. I get to spend time with my boys, catch up on to do lists for the house, and most importantly get to sleep late! Also, like all teachers, I spend a lot of time during the summer planning out my upcoming school year. I spend a lot of time planning out my classroom organization and decor, but I tend to get bored pretty easy, so I used to change my room every year. That was crazy town! I just ended up creating more work for myself! I started working in a new school this past year. It's in a historical 100 year old building and I love it! I love the character in the classrooms and the school itself. My classroom is huge and has tons of windows and a loft. I even got to paint it my favorite color! I am blessed! I always came up with new classroom themes every year, but I found that it was difficult to match everything to a certain idea and I felt like a couldn't get away from that theme or things wouldn't match. Does anyone else feel that way? So, this past year I decided to go with a "color theme". I picked 3 colors and matched everything in my classroom around those colors. The colors I chose are pink, turquoise (my favorite color), and lime green. I always do all of my bulletin boards with a black fabric background, so these colors "popped" on all of my boards. I also didn't stick with a certain pattern background. I liked being able to mix it up a bit. After all was said and done, I was more happy with my classroom this past year than any other year.
I work in a laboratory school that is a part of a University. My school is a small public school with only 2 classes per grade level. We have the unique opportunity to help train and guide future teachers who are getting ready to begin their student teaching. Due to our school's connection with the university, I have a lot of people in and out of my classroom on a daily basis. This year I had so many people ask where I got my classroom decorations. I was so excited and flattered that people loved something that I made! I thought that maybe people would like other things I've created so I swallowed my fear and created this blog and my TPT store. I'm showcasing this decor pack because it was one of the first items I made for my store. I also made coordinating number posters, alphabet posters, and math vocabulary alphabet posters.  I hope you like them!  I will be posting classroom pictures soon!
